Imagine this: a traditional British afternoon tea served in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside, with stunning views across the valley and over our wildlife sanctuary grounds. At Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation, our Afternoon Tea Experience combines the elegance of a classic afternoon tea with the wonder of wildlife, creating an unforgettable occasion that’s equal parts relaxation, indulgence, and adventure.
Why Our Afternoon Tea is Extraordinary
Afternoon tea is a beloved British tradition—a moment to pause, savour delicious food, and enjoy good company. But at Eagle Heights, we’ve elevated this classic experience by setting it in our charming tearoom with beautiful views across the Kent countryside and including spectacular flying demonstrations that bring the natural world to life.
This isn’t just afternoon tea—it’s an experience. You’ll enjoy finger sandwiches, cakes, and perfectly brewed tea (or coffee) in our cosy tearoom, gazing out over our grounds and across the valley. Then, you’ll watch in awe as eagles, owls, falcons, and other birds of prey take to the skies in our dedicated flying demonstration area, showcasing the hunting skills and aerial prowess that make them such magnificent predators.
It’s the perfect blend of British tradition and wildlife wonder, creating a unique experience that’s ideal for special occasions, celebrations, or simply treating yourself to something extraordinary.

What’s Included in Your Afternoon Tea Experience?
Traditional Afternoon Tea
The centrepiece of this experience is, of course, the afternoon tea itself. We serve a traditional spread that honours this quintessentially British custom whilst showcasing fresh, quality ingredients.
Sandwiches: Freshly prepared finger sandwiches with a selection of classic fillings. Expect traditional favourites like cucumber, egg mayonnaise, smoked salmon, and ham.
Scones: No afternoon tea is complete without scones! Ours are served accompanied by clotted cream and jam. There’s something deeply satisfying about the ritual of splitting a scone, spreading it with cream and jam, and enjoying that perfect combination of textures and flavours.
Cakes and Pastries: A selection of cakes and sweet treats rounds out your afternoon tea. From classic Victoria sponge to seasonal specialities, each bite is a little moment of indulgence.
Tea and Coffee: Your afternoon tea includes a pot of freshly brewed tea or coffee. We’ll keep your pot topped up so you can relax and linger over your tea.
Catering for Dietary Needs: We understand that dietary requirements vary, and we’re committed to ensuring everyone can enjoy afternoon tea with us. We cater for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal. Simply let us know your requirements when booking, and we’ll prepare an afternoon tea that’s perfect for you. No one should miss out on this experience!
Spectacular Flying Demonstrations
What sets our Afternoon Tea apart is the inclusion of our world-class flying demonstrations. After you’ve enjoyed your tea in the comfort of our tearoom, you’ll head out to watch as our expert handlers work with eagles, owls, falcons, and other birds of prey, showcasing their incredible abilities.
You’ll see eagles soaring with power and grace, their wingspans impressive against the Kent sky. You’ll watch owls demonstrate their silent flight—an adaptation that makes them such successful nocturnal hunters. You’ll witness falcons diving at breathtaking speeds, showcasing the aerial agility that makes them nature’s ultimate flying machines.
Throughout the demonstrations, our knowledgeable handlers share fascinating insights into each species—their hunting techniques, their adaptations, their conservation status, and their role in ecosystems. It’s education and entertainment combined, bringing you closer to these magnificent creatures and deepening your appreciation for the natural world.
These aren’t just shows—they’re opportunities to witness the beauty, power, and intelligence of birds of prey up close. Many visitors tell us the flying demonstrations are the highlight of their visit, and when combined with afternoon tea, they create a truly memorable experience.
The Perfect Setting
Your afternoon tea is served at 2pm in our welcoming tearoom—a cosy space with lovely views out across our grounds and the valley beyond. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your tea, watching the world go by through the windows whilst savouring delicious food and good company.
The tearoom seats up to 30 guests, creating an intimate, comfortable atmosphere that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The views across the Kent countryside provide a peaceful backdrop to your afternoon tea, and you might even spot some of our animal residents going about their day.
The timing is perfect—2pm gives you the afternoon to relax, enjoy your tea at a leisurely pace in the comfort of the tearoom, and then head out for the flying demonstrations without feeling rushed. It’s a proper afternoon out, designed to help you slow down and savour the moment.
Complimentary General Admission
As with all our experiences, complimentary general admission to Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation is included with your Afternoon Tea. This means you can arrive any time from when we open and stay until closing if you wish. You’re not restricted to just your 2pm tea time!
Make a full day of it: arrive early and explore our grounds, meet our 50+ animal residents including over 30 rescued huskies, our meerkats, our alpacas, and more than 20 species of birds of prey. After your afternoon tea and flying demonstrations, continue exploring at your leisure. The whole day is yours to enjoy.

Why Choose the Afternoon Tea Experience?
It’s Perfect for Special Occasions
Afternoon Tea at Eagle Heights is ideal for celebrating life’s special moments. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, engagement, Mother’s Day, or simply a catch-up with someone special, this experience provides the perfect setting for creating memories.
The combination of traditional elegance and wildlife wonder makes it feel truly special—it’s more than just a meal, it’s an occasion. And because it includes flying demonstrations and full-day admission, it offers far more value and interest than a standard afternoon tea venue.
It’s Unique and Memorable
Anyone can book afternoon tea at a hotel or tearoom. But how many people can say they’ve enjoyed afternoon tea with stunning countryside views followed by watching eagles soar and owls hunt? This is the kind of unique experience that stands out, that gets talked about, that becomes a cherished memory.
It’s perfect for impressing a date, treating a loved one, or simply doing something wonderfully different. In a world of generic experiences, this is genuinely special.
It’s Relaxing and Restorative
In our busy, stressful world, the Afternoon Tea Experience offers something precious: time to slow down. There’s something inherently calming about the ritual of afternoon tea—the careful pouring of tea, the leisurely enjoyment of each course, the unhurried conversation.
Add to that the peaceful countryside views from our tearoom and the therapeutic presence of animals throughout your visit, and you have an experience that genuinely helps you unwind. Many visitors tell us they leave feeling refreshed, restored, and grateful for the chance to simply be present.
It’s Family-Friendly
Unlike some afternoon tea venues that feel stuffy or unwelcoming to children, our Afternoon Tea Experience is genuinely family-friendly. Children are welcome and will love the flying demonstrations, the opportunity to explore the grounds, and the chance to meet our animal residents.
It’s a wonderful way to introduce children to the tradition of afternoon tea whilst keeping them engaged with wildlife and outdoor activities. Parents can relax and enjoy their tea knowing their children will be entertained and educated.
It Caters to All Dietary Needs
We’re proud to offer afternoon tea that everyone can enjoy, regardless of dietary requirements. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal, or coeliac, we’ll prepare an afternoon tea that’s delicious, satisfying, and beautifully presented.
Too often, people with dietary restrictions feel like an afterthought—given a token option or made to feel like they’re causing inconvenience. Not here. We believe everyone deserves to enjoy afternoon tea, and we’re committed to making that happen.
It’s Exceptional Value
At £59 for two participants, the Afternoon Tea Experience offers outstanding value. You get a full traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones, cakes, and tea or coffee served in our cosy tearoom with beautiful views, plus spectacular flying demonstrations, plus full-day admission to Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation with access to all our animal residents and grounds.
Compare that to a standard afternoon tea at a hotel or restaurant (often £30-40 per person for just the food and drink), and you’ll see what remarkable value this represents. You’re getting so much more for your money—not just a meal, but a complete experience.
You’re Supporting Conservation and Animal Welfare
Every penny from your Afternoon Tea booking goes directly towards the care of our animal residents and our conservation work. We’re a non-profit dedicated to wildlife education, conservation, and providing affordable outdoor activities.
When you book afternoon tea with us, you’re not just treating yourself—you’re supporting our mission to protect animals, raise environmental awareness, and provide a sanctuary for creatures in need. Your booking helps us continue our work reintroducing native species, maintaining chemical-free grounds, and educating visitors about conservation.
