Adventure Awaits with The Eagle Heights Husky Hike Experience

Imagine walking through the stunning North Downs countryside with a beautiful husky by your side—their excitement palpable, their energy infectious, their companionship utterly joyful. At Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation, our Husky Hike Experience offers exactly that: an unforgettable outdoor adventure that combines the thrill of hiking with the pure delight of spending time with one of nature’s most charismatic animals.

Why the Husky Hike is Unmissable

Our husky pack is truly special. We’re home to over 30 rescued huskies, each with their own personality and story. These magnificent dogs have found their forever home with us, and they absolutely love getting out on the trails. When you join us for a Husky Hike, you’re not just going for a walk—you’re giving one of our rescued huskies the adventure they crave whilst experiencing the North Downs in a way you’ll never forget.

As one of the UK’s original bird of prey centres, we’ve expanded our mission to include the rescue and care of huskies who need a second chance. Every Husky Hike supports their ongoing care and helps us continue this vital rescue work.

What’s Included in Your Husky Hike?

A Guided Hike Through the North Downs

The North Downs is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and our guided hike takes you through some of its most scenic landscapes. Rolling hills, ancient woodlands, open countryside, and breathtaking views await you. This is the Kent countryside at its finest—peaceful, beautiful, and utterly restorative. Your hike is led by our experienced handlers who know the trails intimately and will ensure you have a safe, enjoyable adventure.

Your Own Husky Companion

Here’s where the magic really happens—you’ll be paired with one of our rescued huskies for the duration of your hike. These incredible dogs are bred for endurance and love nothing more than being out on the trail. You’ll feel their enthusiasm from the moment you meet them, and their joy is absolutely contagious.

Each husky has their own personality. Some are gentle and steady, perfect for first-time hikers. Others are energetic and playful, ideal for more experienced walkers. Our handlers will match you with the perfect husky companion based on your experience and fitness level, ensuring both you and your four-legged friend have the best possible time.

As you walk together, you’ll develop a real connection with your husky. There’s something profound about moving through nature with an animal—a sense of partnership, of shared adventure, of being part of something bigger than yourself. It’s this connection that makes the Husky Hike so special.

Flying Demonstration at Eagle Heights

Your adventure doesn’t end when you return from your hike. Included in your Husky Hike Experience is entry to Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation and a spectacular flying demonstration. After your outdoor adventure, you’ll have the chance to watch our magnificent birds of prey in flight—eagles, owls, falcons, and more, demonstrating the incredible skills that make them apex predators.

It’s the perfect way to round off your day, combining the thrill of your husky adventure with the awe-inspiring spectacle of birds of prey doing what they do best.

Complimentary General Admission

As with all our experiences, complimentary general admission to Eagle Heights is included with your Husky Hike. This means you can arrive any time from when we open and stay until closing if you wish. Explore our grounds, meet our 50+ animal residents including meerkats, alpacas, and more than 20 species of birds of prey, grab refreshments at our tearoom, and make a full day of your visit. You’re not restricted to just your hike time—the whole day is yours to enjoy.

Why Choose the Husky Hike Experience?

It’s an Active Adventure

In a world where we spend so much time indoors and online, the Husky Hike offers something genuinely refreshing—proper outdoor adventure. You’ll breathe fresh air, move your body, connect with nature, and return feeling energised and alive. It’s exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise because you’re too busy enjoying yourself.

It’s Perfect for Dog Lovers

If you love dogs but can’t have one of your own, the Husky Hike is a dream come true. You get all the joy of spending quality time with a beautiful dog without the long-term commitment. And if you are a dog owner, you’ll appreciate the unique experience of hiking with a husky—a breed with such distinctive character and energy.

You’re Supporting Rescue Animals

Every single one of our 30+ huskies is a rescue. They’ve come to us from various circumstances, and Eagle Heights is now their forever home. When you book a Husky Hike, you’re directly supporting their care—their food, veterinary needs, enrichment, and wellbeing. You’re also helping us continue our rescue work, giving more huskies the second chance they deserve.

It’s Suitable for Families

At 8+, the Husky Hike is perfect for families with older children. It’s a brilliant way to get kids outdoors, active, and engaged with animals and nature. The memories you’ll create together—the laughter, the adventure, the shared experience—are priceless. It’s so much more meaningful than another day at a theme park or shopping centre.

It Combines Multiple Experiences

Where else can you hike through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a rescued husky, then watch eagles and owls in flight, then meet meerkats and alpacas, all in one day? The Husky Hike offers incredible value because it’s not just one experience—it’s a full day of adventure, wildlife encounters, and outdoor exploration.

It’s Seasonal Magic

The Husky Hike is beautiful year-round, but each season brings its own magic. Spring brings wildflowers and new life. Summer offers long, golden evenings and lush green landscapes. Autumn paints the North Downs in spectacular colours. Winter brings crisp air and the chance to see the countryside in its quieter, more contemplative mood. And huskies? They absolutely love cooler weather—you’ll see them at their most energetic and joyful.

Meet Our Husky Pack

Our pack of 30+ rescued huskies is the heart and soul of this experience. Each dog has their own story, their own personality, their own quirks and preferences. Some are gentle souls who love a steady, peaceful walk. Others are bundles of energy who can’t wait to hit the trails. Some are vocal and chatty, “talking” to you throughout the hike. Others are quiet and contemplative, content to simply be by your side.

What they all have in common is that they’ve found safety, love, and purpose here at Eagle Heights. They’re cared for by our dedicated team, they have space to run and play, and they get the enrichment and attention they need to thrive. The Husky Hike isn’t just good for you—it’s good for them too. They love the stimulation, the exercise, and the one-on-one attention.
